Twin Ports residents rolled out the rainbow carpet for the return of the Duluth Superior Pride parade Sunday.
“It’s so great to be back in person this year for all of our events,” Jan Ashmore, organizer said.
The parade topped off a weekend of fun filled events aimed at promoting and teaching equality.
“It’s been a wonderful, wonderful weekend so far. Everyone has just been so kind and that is the great thing about Pride. Everyone is so welcoming,” Lee Cutler, a participant in the parade said.
The parade included appearances from local leaders, organizations and community members of all ages.
"Very excited to be here and to show our support for the community,” Ximena Azurmendi, a participant in the parade said.
Even before the parade started, the family friendly event drew a crowd looking for the best seat in the house.
“This year it seems like its bigger and better than ever,” Cutler said.
Organizers hope to see many more join in on the colorful, joyful celebration next year.
