Prep football cancellations: Northwestern, Moose Lake/Willow River off Friday

Both the Northwestern and Moose Lake/Willow River football teams saw their matches cancelled for Friday.

Their scheduled foe in Chetek-Weyerhaeuser had to forfeit. This match was supposed to be the Tigers’ homecoming game.

The team Tweeted they had been in talks with Aitkin after their match was cancelled with Proctor. That is due to ongoing investigations within the Rails’ program regarding alleged misconduct.

Moose Lake/Willow River also had to cancel their scheduled match against Crosby-Ironton. According to the Ranger’s Twitter it’s for player health and safety. It was set for Friday, then moved to Saturday, before being cancelled completely.
