Prep Volleyball: Cloquet, Grand Rapids, Proctor, Greenway win section semifinals

In prep volleyball playoffs Wednesday, Cloquet, Grand Rapids, Proctor, and Greenway punched their tickets to the section finals.

In the Section 7AAA semifinals, top-seeded Grand Rapids held off fourth seeded North Branch 3-1 (28-26, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20), and second seeded Cloquet downed third seeded Hermantown 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21) to advance. Grand Rapids and Cloquet will battle for the section title Saturday. First serve is set for 1pm in Cloquet.

In Section 7AA, top-seeded Proctor downed fourth seeded Mesabi East 3-1 (25-27, 25-12, 25-17, 27-25), while third seeded Greenway shut out second seeded Rush City 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-23) to advance. Greenway and Proctor will fight for the section championship Saturday. First serve is set for 4pm at Hermantown High School.

In Section 7A, fourth seeded Northeast Range upset top-seeded Barnum 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 25-17), while second seeded South Ridge held off third seeded Ely 3-2 (21-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-13). Northeast Range and South Ridge will serve up the section title game Saturday at 4pm in Hibbing.
