St. Luke’s in Duluth recognized one of their volunteers on Monday for National Volunteers week.
Joey Sauer, a 22-year-old UMD student, has been a volunteer at St. Luke’s since the start of the pandemic.
He began his volunteer work here two years ago in the COVID-19 vaccine clinic helping with getting people vaccinated. Sauer said it has been great to get to know everyone and hopes to take this experience as he pursues a career in dentistry.
“Not only is it great for the application, at least in my case, but also just feels really good to know that you’re helping,” said Sauer. “It feels good to get out and help other people.”
