Superior’s North End Nightmare 5K returns mass start, full capacity

Grandma’s Marathon’s North End Nightmare 5K is back to full capacity for 2021. The third annual event will take place on Saturday.

The Halloween themed race benefits the Young Athletes Foundation. Following the implementation of Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, the mass start will return this year.

New this year will be the course. For the first time in the 3rd annual event’s history it will start and finish near Superior’s Earth Rider Brewery.

Registration is available online through Thursday. In-person registration will be available Friday at the Grandma’s office in Canal Park from 12-6pm, or same day at Earth Rider from 12-4:30pm.

Runners will take off from the starting line a 5pm. There is also a Spider Dash starting at 4pm, which is a shorter race that’s free and open to anyone 14 and younger.
