A new top dog has been selected to lead the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) softball team.
Following Jen Walters departure after six years with the program, it was announced on Thursday that Lynn Anderson will be taking over as head coach of the Bulldogs.
"UMD has had a great program and so just to be here and in person, and be taking over this program as head coach, it’s a huge honor," Anderson said. "I’m looking to continue that tradition and take us another step further too."
Anderson spent the last three seasons as the head coach of Grinnell College’s Division III sqauad, and five season before that as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Oskosh. There she helped theTtitans to two straight NCAA Division III National Softball Tournament appearances and a regional title in 2017.
Officially starting on September 22nd, Anderson will become just the fifth person to lead Bulldog softball in it’s 40 year history.
