Coming off two exhibition wins the University Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s basketball team is now just a week away from tipping off their regular season. Returning three fifth year seniors and three true seniors the Bulldogs are bringing an experienced core back to the court.
"When coach asked if we were coming back I think it was a pretty obvious answer," said fifth year guard Ann Simonet. "We have a great group here and talking to Sarah Grow and Payton Kahl we just all decided together, let’s just all do this and come back and have fun. It’s a great group and [I’m] just fortunate to have another opportunity with the Bulldogs."
Utilizing that extra year of eligibility Simonet will rejoin three time Northern Sun Intercollegiate (NSIC) champion, head coach, Mandy Pearson and 2021 NSIC Preseason Player of the Year Brooke Olson.
Ranked 18th in the nation UMD will open their 2021-2022 season visiting No. 2 Drury University on November 16th.
