UPDATE: Three people killed in Ashland house fire identified

We now know the identities of the three people who were killed in a house fire in Ashland Monday morning.

The Ashland Police Department identified the victims as 36-year-old Jordan Chowning, 14-year-old Alyssa Chowning and 17-year-old Michelle Hathaway.

The investigation is still active and autopsies are being completed.

This comes after the Ashland Police Department and Ashland Fire Department responded to the home at 1318 6th Street West shortly after 9:30 Monday morning.

Three people exited the burning house safely, but another three were found deceased inside.

One of the three people who escaped was transported to Memorial Medical Center emergency room for burn injuries.

The incident is under investigation by the Ashland Fire Department, Ashland Police Department, and Wisconsin Department of Justice State Fire Marshal.
