UWS men’s & women’s soccer punch tickets to UMAC championships

On Wednesday both the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s and women’s soccer teams clinched spots in their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship games.
The top-seeded UWS women shut out fourth seeded University of Minnesota, Morris 6-0 in the UMAC semifinals held at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex. Annah Schussman scored twice to become the Yellowjackets all-time leading scorer with 33 career goals.
UWS improves to 13-0-1 in UMAC play and will host the University of Northwestern for the championship Saturday at 2pm.
Later in evening the top-seeded UWS men downed Northwestern 5-1 in their UMAC semifinal game. The Yellowjackets were led by Blake Doyea with two goals and Blake Perry with a goal and two assists.
UWS will host Bethany Lutheran College for the UMAC title Saturday at 4:30pm.
