UWS Men’s & Women’s Soccer teams drop season openers at home

The UWS Men’s Soccer team dropped their season opener at home 2-1 in overtime to Augsburg on Wednesday night.

Augsburg got on the board first, scoring in the 39th minute, but then in the 68th minute, UW-Superior’s Brandon Conklin tied the game at 1 goal a piece. Augsburg scored the game-winner 49 seconds into overtime.

The Yellowjackets will next host Concordia on Saturday at noon.

The UWS Women’s Soccer team also lost their opener at home, falling 2-0 to Saint Mary’s.

Saint Mary’s scored less than six minutes into the game, and again in the 75th minute.

The Yellowjackets return to action Sunday when they host Lakeland College. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
