UWS softball suffers upset loss to Morris in UMAC playoff opener

On Thursday the top-seeded University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) softball team would suffer a 2-0 upset loss to fourth seeded University of Minnesota Morris in round one of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) playoff tournament.

The Yellowjackets and Cougars were scoreless into the fifth inning, when a pitching and fielding error resulted in the Cougars scoring two runs.

The Yellowjackets will now have to battle No. 2 University of Northwestern in an elimination game on Friday. First pitch is set for 10:30am at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex in Superior.

The winner will play again Friday at 3pm against the loser of the Morris vs. No. 3 Bethany Lutheran match. For tournament info, click here.
