- Sunday, January 5 – Glensheen to host free Community Day featuring FREE self-guided Classic Christmas Tours of the mansion from 10 AM – 4 PM. Reservations are not available or required. Classic Tours will be the only tour offered on this day. All guests arriving by 4 PM will receive a free Classic Tour. When arriving, guests will be welcomed at the Ticket House and proceed to the Carriage House and Mansion for their self-guided tours. An art activity will be led in the Winter Garden by UMD Art Education faculty. This activity will provide a keepsake for guests to remember their day at Glensheen! Community Day is Glensheen’s way of giving back to Duluthians for their ongoing support of this local attraction. Details: Glensheen Mansion
- Friday, January 10 – The Homegrown Music Festival is hosting their 2025 Homegrown Winter Fiasco at multiple venues in Superior. These performances are free to anyone who is 21-years-old or older. Artists will perform at Havana’s, Superior Tavern, Tower Avenue Tavern, and the Main Club. - Friday, January 10 – Tickets for the 65th Annual Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward are on sale at 9AM. Tickets can be purchased by visiting https://www.lumberjackworldchampionships.com/ The event will take place July 17-19, 2025.

- Thursday, January 16 – The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Foundation will host the 12th annual Food for Thought – A Tasting Event at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC) from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM. The fun event benefits student scholarships and features delicious entrée, dessert, and beverage samples plus a 50/50 board and fabulous raffle prizes. Come taste samples from a wide number of local businesses. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the event and are available now at the FDLTCC Business Office or from a FDLTCC Foundation board member. - Thursday, January 16 – Saturday, January 25 – Zeitgeist Theater’s presents ‘What The Constitution Means To Me’, by playwright Heidi Schreck. Fifteen year old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful and achingly human new play, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives. All evening shows are at 7:30 with a matinee on Sunday, January 19 at 2PM. Performances on January 16, 17, 18, 19 & 22, 23, 24 and 25. Tickets: https://zeitgeistarts.com/theater/
- Saturday, January 18 – 16th annual Fishin’ Chicks Fundraiser supporting Women with Breast Cancer in Iron River, Wisconsin. Everyone can participate, but only ladies are eligible to compete in the fishing tournament. $40 gets you entry into the contest, a small gift, entertainment, lunch and ten raffle tickets. Check-in is at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 East Mill Street at 8AM. Tournament runs 8:30 – 1:30 PM at Moon Lake Park off County Hwy H. Lunch is at 11AM. Free to participants, $5 for walk-ins. - Wednesday, February 5 – Black Woods Blizzard Tour in partnership with Never Surrender, Inc. begins the four-day event in Carlton. The Black Woods Blizzard Tour raises funds for ALS research, organizations providing services that empower people living with ALS to be more independent, and financial assistance for full-time family caregivers for those afflicted with ALS. - Saturday, February 15 – Book Across the Bay Winter Carnival in Ashland! There will be a Craft & Wellness Market, live music, food trucks, snow sculpture contests, snowball launching competition, sledding hill, fireworks and more. Plus! The iconic Book Across the Bay race benefitting charities of the region. Over $200,000 has gone toward volunteer groups and charitable organizations. It is open to skiers and snowshoers of all ages and ability levels. The 10-kilometer course is groomed for both classic-style and skate skiing, and follows a route over the frozen surface of Lake Superior. The event is held at night and the course is lit by up to 1,000 candles in ice luminaries that line the entire route. Click to Register.
