The Minnesota Ballet hosted the Twin Ports Bloody Mary Battle & Brunch on Sunday, and the event ran from 11am to 2pm at the Duluth Depot.

This is the first year the Minnesota Ballet has hosted the battle, and all proceeds go back to the ballet. The event brought together ten local businesses to determine who could create the best and most creative Bloody Mary drink.

The event was only open to those 21 and over and tickets were $40 in advance or $50 at the door. Tickets included free samples from each of the contestant’s stands, food from the Rambler food truck, and a live musical performance from Tres Osos.

“One hundred percent of today’s proceeds go to support Minnesota Ballet, which is so important because, you know, the arts were so impacted by the COVID pandemic, and we still haven’t fully rebounded. So, support for this 60-year-old arts organization is more important now than ever,” said Maude Dornfeld, Executive Director of the Minnesota Ballet. “And we’re so grateful for everyone who’s come today to help support the arts.”

Businesses participating in the event included – The Boreal House, Canal Park Brewing, Chilly Billy’s, Grandma’s Saloon & Grill, Grand Superior Grill, Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar, MidCoast Catering, Northland Country Club, Pizza Luce, Pickwick Restaurant & Pub, Bent Paddle Brewing and Rambler Food Truck.
