Former WDIO anchor Dennis Anderson is not the only one who wants people to, be kind.
Grand Marais coffee shop owner, Sarah Jorgenson-Hallberg shares beautiful scenes and talks about the weather up the shore on her instagram every day. But after a recent customer was anything *but kind to her staff, she shared a different.
“Our staff, they are kids. They are teenage kids who are doing the absolute best they can. And they should not be treated the way they have been the last couple days.”
She called comments made by a few recent customers, nasty and inexcusable.
Panning her cell phone camera to show a glistening lake superior morning, she said, “This is why you come here, please be kind. All we ask is that you are kind.”
customer’s comments were *especially jarring because their store is generally filled up-beat, appreciative customers.
Jorgenson-Hallberg said the harsh customer comments were especially jarring because the Java Moose is generally filled with up-beat, appreciative customers.
“It’s an isolated event”, she said. “For every 10,000 people we wait on one, maybe one isn’t great.”
“We have very happy jobs”, she said. “We make coffee and we make people happy and we live and work in the most beautiful place.”
Both locals and out of town customers are all needed in order for the Java Moose to stay in business, she said. But many businesses are still dealing with supply problems and staff shortages, so she just wants to remind us all to follow Dennis Anderson’s wise counsel and – be kind.
