Animals survive coop fire in St. Louis County

Firefighters responded to a chicken coop fire Sunday morning, January 5, in Colvin Township outside of Makinen. As per the Northland Fire Wire, crews from Colvin Township, Makinen, Palo, and Central Lakes were sent to the scene at the 2700 block of Lowe Road around 11:20 a.m.
The chicken coop was a total loss, but fortunately, all the chickens and ducks survived.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
