“It’s amazing. It’s amazing how many people care and want to support me. It’s great. It feels awesome,” said Bradley.

Friends of the Bradley family put together the ‘Benefit for Bradley’, a fundraiser event aimed to raise funds to support Bradley and her family with medical expenses as they navigate treatment. The event was held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Duluth, and hosted a silent auction and raffles, along with balloon animals, face painting and get-well card making for the kids.

Bradley was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April and has been going through chemotherapy treatments ever since. She is also currently preparing for a double mastectomy.

“I think the news definitely caught me off guard. However, Jess’ strengths in it I think was just, it just made it easy to jump in and say, ‘you got this girl, let’s support you,’ and there’s no one stronger,” said Jes Podpeskar, one of Bradley’s friends.

“It’s a lot, it’s a lot. But I have a great support system around me and yeah, every Monday is chemo, so I have a group of people, my support squad, that come and help me and help me cold cap to preserve my hair. I just wouldn’t be able to do it without my friends and family,” said Bradley.

Many people came to support Bradley, who has given support to the community through her work as a social worker.

“Jess is just an amazing support to everybody around her. She’s a social worker at Piedmont, so she puts her hearts into kids every day. Also, a lot of us just have the honor to be friends, family, so we all just want to be here to show jess our support because she’s always showing that support to us,” said Podpeskar.
