Congdon Park Elementary hosts “Bike Rodeo”

Congdon Park Elementary hosted a “Bike Rodeo” Tuesday evening at Ordean East Middle School.

More than 100 kids showed up to ride bikes, learn about safety, and win some raffle prizes.

Event organizer Katie Benziger said getting all the kids out was kid for there physical health as well as their mental health, especially considering the ongoing toll of COVID-19.

“Kids are not used to a lot of social interactions,” said Benziger. “I just think having everyone out together in this sort of environment where it’s outside and it’s safe and they’re having a good time, it’s just it’s just great for everybody.”

The first 72 kids to show up to the event also got free helmets thanks to Essentia Health and SafeKids NEMN.
