A group of cousins made a big gift donation to the kids at Essentia in Duluth Friday afternoon.

Every year they hold a bake sale to raise money to get gifts for the young patients at the infusion center.

With their help of their community, Maria Oppelt and her cousins were able to raise the money to buy more than $2,000 worth of gifts for kids of all ages.

This is part of tradition they’ve been for the last five years to keep the legacy of their great uncle and Grandpa Johnny going.

“It makes me feel really proud and happy to be able continue to do this and to be able to give back to the community in any way I can,” explained Maria.
