Two of Duluth’s State Lawmakers visited the city on April 15 for a town hall put on by the DFL.

State Senator Jen McEwen and State Representative were joined by Senate Majority leader Erin Murphy for the town hall style meeting hosted by the DFL.

The three spoke during the event, which was titled “Fight Back Against Trump.” Among issues discussed were the recent cuts made at the federal level, and how they impact Minnesota.

Senator McEwen believes that these cuts provide an opportunity for those who oppose them.

“This is a place where we can begin to organize, not just to fight back against Trump and Musk, but also to start setting our own demands and our own agenda for the kind of community that we want to have” McEwen said.

“It doesn’t have to be like this. It shouldn’t be like this” she added.
