Duluth Depot hosts a day of family fun
The Duluth Depot partnered with Every Child Ready Coalition to host their “Family Fest” event on Saturday. The event featured free entertainment for children and resources for caregivers to help children build the skills they need to be school-ready.
“Kids, especially in the birth to five age range, learn best by interacting with their grownups and older kids and playing,” said Carmella Hatch, Early Literacy Coordinator. “Playing is a huge part of learning. So having an event like this lets kids explore lots of new ideas, try out new skills, and gives parents and caregivers new ideas for activities they can take home.”
The event was organized by Every Child Ready Duluth, a Duluth Public Library collaborative, and aimed to ensure that every child in Duluth is prepared to be a successful learner. You can learn more about Every Child Ready Duluth here.
