Duluth Winter Village returns to Harbor Drive
Get into the holiday spirit with the Duluth Winter Village on Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. along Harbor Drive outside of the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center. This is the second year that the Winter Village has been on Harbor Drive.
The free event began on the grounds of Glensheen Mansion in 2016 as a way to support small businesses while celebrating the holiday season. More than 50 local businesses will be set up in festive wooden cabins and in Pioneer Hall with their curated goods for sale.
“We are so thrilled to be working with DECC staff again to build upon our wonderful first year on Harbor Drive,” Mallory Moore, Duluth Winter Village president said in a release. “We are utilizing even more of the space and DECC facilities this year by expanding into more indoor areas, increasing the outdoor shopping footprint, adding outdoor bars, activities and attractions both days.”
The Duluth Winter Village brings local favorites to one festive location to make it fun and easy to shop local. Participants include Ivy Moon, Y-ker Acres, Hucklebeary, Frost River, Blue Heron Trading Company, Bailey Builds, Art by SJ Nielsen, Superior Blooms, and many more. Food and drink from New Scenic Cafe, Duluth’s Best Bread, Love Creamery, TBSP Waffles, DECC and more. Lincoln Park craft marketplace North & Shore will host the North & Shore Market with more than 15 local makers in a brand new space.
There will also be food and beverags to buy, campfires, live animals, carolers and free skating inside from 2 -5 p.m. both days.
“The DECC is creating unique events for gathering with lift bridge views, bonfires, local items and just a special atmosphere to make memories,” Daniel Hartman, Executive Director of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) said in a statement. “This year, we’ll have a live DJ for the afternoon Atomic Skating, which families love, and outdoor bars for those looking for hot chocolate or a cup of cheer. This is just another reason why Duluth is Christmas City of the North.”
According to organizers, new for 2022: Free indoor ice skating both afternoons 2 – 5pm including free skates (limited availability) with live DJs The Crunchy Bunch; outdoor bars providing seasonal drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages; live animals both days; expanded indoor areas at the Yule Hall; a twenty-foot decorated tree; indoor heated family areas from Duluth Mom with diaper changing areas and nursing spaces.
