The Family Freedom Center greets hillside with barbeque and open house
The Family Freedom Center introduced themselves to the Hillside community on Tuesday with a open house and barbeque. The organization is taking over the operations of the historic Neighborhood Youth Services, or NYS. So these folks will be the ones

The programming at Washington Center was left to an uncertain future after Youth and Family Services closed its door for good in 2021. A six month search guided by The Northspan Group Inc., lead the program to the non-profit Family Freedom Center, of FFC.
Ultimately the discovered a lot of their values aligned. Executive Jacob Bell told WDIO that he’s excited to start,
FFC is one of the few black-founded and black-led non-profits in the DUluth area. There mission is to provide an inclusive space for Duthians. They aim to engage, empower, and educate, hoping to bridge the gap between community and students.
