Freedom Farms Presents: The Big Tent
There will be a free family event brought by the Black, Native, elder and Pre-School community, for the whole community on Saturday, October 8 at 500 E. 10th Street in Duluth. It is being organized by the Family Freedom Center, Duluth Aging Support, American Indian Community Housing Organization (AICHO), Health Equity Northland and Duluth Head Start. The event runs noon-4:00 p.m.
Each October Family Freedom Center hosts The Big Tent event at Freedom Farms to prepare everyone for cold months ahead. It’s a take-what-you-need event with free produce, free pantry items, free coats, hats, mittens and gloves.
There’ll also be live music, games, prizes, voter registration, local vendors and more.
A hot meal is available for everyone who attends. All are invited to come and stock up on supplies and relationships that can sustain their families through the winter.
