The Dental Hygiene Program at Lake Superior College (LSC) provided free teeth cleaning on February 3rd to those who need it most, low-income children. In coordination with the Minnesota Dental Association (MDA) and their ‘Give Kids a Smile Program’, LSC held appointments for children of low-income families to get free teeth cleaning.
LSC director of the Dental Hygiene Program, Kjersta Watt said, “It’s really invaluable for our community. To be able to serve the needs that are not typically going to be met, but also for our students to have the experience to be able to serve the community. And that’s really what this program is all about.”
The LSC Dental Hygiene Program offers a low-cost solution to provide x-rays, teeth cleaning, and fluoride treatments to individuals. For more information, visit their website here.
