Local businesses celebrate Valentine’s Day

As many celebrate Valentine’s Day, a couple of Duluth businesses are in on the excitement. 

Vitta Pizza, which has a location in Canal Park as well as a new location on Central Entrance, makes heart-shaped pizza every year. 

“People love it. I mean, what better way to say I love you than a heart shaped pizza on Valentine’s Day?,” said Co-owner Christie Erikson.

The heart-shaped pizza is available upon request. Any of Vitta Pizza’s regular flavors can be made into a heart-shaped pizza at no extra cost. 

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, located in Canal Park, also celebrates the holiday each year. In addition to heart-shaped boxes of chocolate assortments, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory had Valentine’s Day-themed hot cocoa and chocolate-covered strawberries.  

“Every year we try to get people to preorder strawberries,” said Shift Lead Andrea Flinner. “This year, we even had a discount if you ordered before February 10th and there were a good dozen that took us up on that. We also have a lot of people calling. Do you still have strawberries? Can I still come and get strawberries? Is it okay if I didn’t preorder?”
