Minnesota State Rep. Natalie Zeleznikar seeking re-election
Minnesota State Representative Natalie Zeleznikar announced Tuesday that she would be seeking re-election to represent Minnesota District 3B.
“In 2022, we made history: for the first time ever, a Republican won an election to represent the great people of Northern Minnesota in the Minnesota House of Representatives,” said Zeleznikar in her announcement statement. “With only a 33-vote margin, it took the support of many volunteers, supporters, and donors who were ready for a new direction here in District 3B. “
Zeleznikar also said that serving as the State Representative for District 3B has been one of the greatest honors of her life.
“Meeting constituents at Neighborhood Nights Out, townhalls, meet & greets, annual parades in Two Harbors, Hermantown and Proctor, Chamber events, township meetings, or one-on-one meetings have been my catalyst for seeking re-election in 2024,” explained Zeleznikar. “I promised to be accessible, available, and keep folks in the North updated on what is happening in the legislative session, and I worked hard to keep that promise.
Zeleznikar has been of the resident of the area for 33 years and currently serves on the Children & Families, Workforce Development, and Human Service Finance committees, as well as the Aging and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Task Forces appointed by the governor.
DFL Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement in response to Zeleznikar’s announcement:
“Rep. Zeleznikar’s far-right politics are out of touch with her district. She will be held accountable for her extreme agenda of banning abortion, cutting taxes for the rich, and taking away free school meals from students. Her constituents deserve a responsible legislator who shares their values, not a Trump-style MAGA Republican.”
