New BIPOC Business Directory brings people together

There’s a new way to explore BIPOC businesses in the area. The City of Duluth, 1200 Fund, the Entrepreneur Fund, and Nomadic Black have teamed up to create the Northland BIPOC Business Directory.

Thursday at the Co-Lab they held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new initiative. Ultimately organizers hope that this will bring communities of color together to support, promote, and uplift the entrepreneurs and business owners.

Stephanie Williams is a business adviser for the Entrepreneur fund and one of the founding members for this initiative. She tells us that since the Twin Ports is predominately a white space, many BIPOC entrepreneurs and individuals don’t know what resources are out there.

“We as business owners have always been behind the scenes doing our hustle and doing our thing. We though that website, this directory was an opportunity to put a spotlight on our PIPOC entrepreneurs that are out there,” she tells us.

It’s a place to promote their business, talk about events, and highlight their goods and services.
