The Superior Fire Department swore in five new firefighters in an award ceremony today at the Superior Government Center.

Perry Bentley, Mason Blankenship, Abby Dolsen, Breena Kolquist, and Joshua Walczynski will now serve as the city’s newest fire fighters.

In addition to the new firefighters, nine firefighters were promoted and five life saving awards were presented.

“It’s a very proud day as a Fire Chief to be able to welcome aboard new firefighters to our department, celebrate the promotion of firefighters to Captain as well as MPO, and celebrate the accomplishments of our firefighters,” said Fire Chief Camron Vollbrecht.

At the ceremony, John Prendergast was also recognized as the Lenny Rouse Firefighter of the Year.
