Paving delays begin this week at Highway 61 Silver Creek

Expect delays when driving on Highway 61 near Silver Creek Cliff. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), crews will be working on paving Highway 61 just north of Two Harbors on Wednesday and Thursday this week. MnDOT says the “paving will occur on the mainline Highway 61 and at the realignment of Silver Cliff Road.”

Traffic will be able to use the current bypass during the work, however there will be occasional flagging needed. MnDOT says traffic will be stopped for no more than ten minutes.

If there is bad weather in the area on Wednesday, the project will shift to Thursday, July 20 and Friday, July 21.

After paving is complete, crews will begin to remove the temporary bypass and construct a new left turn lane at Silver Fox Lane.
