Proctor Amateur Hockey Association raising money for the Trush family
The Proctor Amateur Hockey Association hosted a fundraiser for the Trush family after their house was a near total loss in a fire over the holidays.
Their son Colton is on the Bantam A team and has been playing since a mite, and his dad Justin is the director of their outdoor rink. The fundraised gave the tight-knit hockey community in Proctor a chance to give back to a family that has given the association so much over the years.
“It’s a small community here in Proctor. The hockey community is a strong one. We are looking out for each other. We want to raise and support each other any way we can. And this just seemed like a great opportunity to gather everybody together,” said Stacey Dunbar, fundraising coordinator for the Proctor Amateur Hockey Association.
There was hockey success being celebrated at the fundraiser as well.
“Our seasons are wrapping up. Actually, Colton’s team is going to state next week. It’s our first ever Bantam A team to make it. So, it’s kind of almost like a sendoff celebration as well while we’re raising money to give back to the family,” said Dunbar.

Their next fundraiser will be a beanbag tournament this spring. Dates have not been set as of now.
