Rounding up benefits Salvation Army
Super One Foods donated over $150,000 to the Salvation Army. Customers donated over $100,000 at the grocery stores’ registers. The Miner family generously matched $50,000.
“Super One customers once again demonstrated remarkable generosity during this holiday season’s Salvation Army register pin-pad campaign,” said Patrick Miner, President of Miner’s Inc. “The funds raised highlight our community’s dedication to supporting the Salvation Army’s mission and helping those in need.
Miner added, “Beyond the register campaign, the Miner family was honored to continue our tradition of matching Red Kettle donations at select Northland Super One locations, up to $50,000. Additionally, we are grateful for the partnerships with our vendor community to support the Duluth Salvation Army Corps’ annual Christmas food basket distribution. This year, the retail value of food items that Miner’s helped source and contributed through donations exceeded $48,000. As a company and a family, it is a cherished holiday tradition for us to contribute to these efforts, ensuring the Salvation Army can continue to assist individuals and families facing challenges, especially during the holiday season.”
Beyond the register campaign, Super One donated most of the food in the Salvation Army’s Christmas food baskets, which makes sure over 2,500 people get to have a full holiday meal.
“Coming into the Christmas fundraising season, I knew we were going to be fighting an uphill
battle,” said Cyndi Lewis, Director of Development at The Duluth Salvation Army. “When we started to
see donors at our doors looking for assistance, we knew times were tougher than most. Miner’s is such
a Godsend for our organization with how much they do and donate. Their generosity shows how
much they love and care about the communities they serve.”
