St. Louis County seeks volunteers for Mental Health Advisory Council

Southern St. Louis County is searching for volunteers for their Local Mental Health Advisory Council serving Duluth and the surrounding communities.

They are seeking candidates who have lived experiences of their own, those who have professional training in the mental health field, and people who are passionate about improving the community.

Interested candidates need to apply by October 20th. The council will meet on the third Thursday of each month from 5-6:30 p.m. Members are asked to commit to service for two years on the council. There is a separate advisory council serving the northern part of St. Louis County, though additional volunteers are not needed for this group at this time.

A stipend is available for people with lived experience who serve on the advisory council.

The council started in the fall of 2020 and works to identify existing resources as well as provide recommendations to St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services regarding changes, additions and improvements needed to local mental health services for children and adults.
