Structure fire causes damage in Solway Township
Around 4:30 Friday afternoon, area first responders received a 911 call for a structure fire in the 3900 block of Crosby Road in Solway Township. Upon arrival by first responders, it was determined that no one was inside of the residence and the residence was fully involved.
The structure was a complete loss with an estimated value of $100,000 for the structure and $70,000 for contents. There was no insurance on the property. The owners were referred to the Red Cross for assistance. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office was contacted to investigate the cause of the fire. There was a lightning storm taking place in the area at the time of the fire and nothing about the fire appeared suspicious in nature.
The Solway, Grand Lake, Cloquet Area, Esko, Proctor Fire Departments responded along with Lake Country Power.
