Temporary closure of Kitchi Gammi Park/Brighton Beach starts
The City of Duluth temporarily closed Kitchi Gammi Park/Brighton Beach to all traffic on Tuesday August 27th.
The closure is a part of the Brighton Beach project and will allow contractors to complete cement work in the park. The closure is expected to last up to a week.
The road construction portion of the Brighton Beach project is in the final stages of work now focusing on the entrances. The road construction portion of the project is expected to end in the coming weeks.
The Brighton Beach project aims to mitigate storm damage to the park area as well as provide new park landscaping and amenities, replacement of non-native plant species, improved access to the shore, and shore stabilization.
