Traffic changes to Third Street on July 1
Progress continues with the Third Street Reconditioning project. According to the City of Duluth, road crews are completing work on the upper side of Third Street on schedule, and will begin work on the lower side on Monday, July 1.
Beginning Monday, residents will need to know that the left lane of Third Street will be closed between 12th Avenue E and Mesaba Avenue with traffic using the newly-paved right lane.
Drivers should also be aware that some avenues may close to safely complete the work within the intersections. City officials say parking will not be allowed inside the construction area.
The remaining work on the Third Street Reconditioning Project consists of concrete pavement repairs, bituminous mill and overlay, ADA intersection improvements, and pavement markings.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
