Volunteers help plant flowers in Canal Park

Volunteers helped plant flowers in Canal Park in Duluth Wednesday, June 5, to help “beautify” the area. The volunteers filled dozens of the streetscape planters.

“I think color really just livens up the downtown,” explained Kristi Stokes, the president of Downtown Duluth. “Its just more vibrant that way and so we love to do this and its great to be able to get volunteers to come out and do this”

The planting is part of an annual tradition in the city.

Volunteers will be back out Thursday, June 6 to plant fires in the planters across Superior St.
