The St. Louis River is known for its beauty but also for its gauntlet of whitewater rapids.

Over the years Swiftwater Adventures, located 15 minutes away from Duluth, has given thousands of guided rafting tours on the river. They pride themselves on what they call homegrown guides with worldwide experience.

Their trips are guided by professional in-raft guides and are led by trip leaders in safety kayaks.

Co-owner Brian Pfeifer has been a long-time guide at Swiftwater. He says, “It’s amazing. I mean, I get to be here every day of the summer meeting new people, helping people overcome their fears, and showing them new challenges. Showing that they can do something outside of the ordinary.”
