Wasabi in Superior destroyed by an overnight fire

The Superior Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire early Monday morning off of Tower Avenue in the city of Superior at 12:27 A.M.

Fire crews arrived two minutes later to find a working structure fire at the Wasabi Japanese restaurant.

They cleared the scene around 8:30am. The building is considered a total loss.

A total of 12 on-duty fire personnel and four apparatus were on scene throughout the night.

The extreme cold caused dangerous conditions for on-scene personnel due to ice build-up.

One firefighter reported a minor back injury due to a fall.  The firefighter remained on scene.  No civilian injuries occurred

The Superior Police Department and Mayo Ambulance assisted on the scene. City of Superior Public Works and WI State Patrol also helped. Kwik Trip donated coffee for the on-scene crews.
