1 dead in house fire just south of Ashland
UPDATE: The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office says Donald Houle Jr., 70, died in a house fire at 63925 Salo Road on January 8. Authorities say the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature. No foul play is suspected.

The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a body was found after a fully engulfed structure fire in the Township of White River, south of Ashland, Wisconsin.
Authorities say that they received that call around 5:33pm on Monday, of the fully engulfed building on Salo Road.
Deputies arrived on the scene shortly after the call and determined that the homeowner was unaccounted for. After the fire was extinguished, the team was able to uncover the body. Identification of the victim is being withheld until the notification of their family.
