148th will be part of Viking-Packer game flyover

The Duluth-based 148th Fighter Wing will be part of the flyover for Sunday’s Viking-Packer game.

148th pilots are joining forces with the Wisconsin National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing to fly over Lambeau Field in Green Bay before the noon kickoff.

“We may support different football teams, but we’re partners in military operations and aviation,” 148^th Operations Group Commander Lt. Col. Scott Prom said in a press release.

Prom will pilot one of the unit’s F-16 Fighting Falcons on Sunday. The 148^th will fly two F-16 Falcons in formation with two F-35 Lighting II aircraft from the 115^th, based in Madison, Wis. 

The two units have also previously partnered on training exercises at Volk Field Training Center in Wisconsin.
