16-year-old in custody for Bayfield County shooting

The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office reported that they have taken a 16-year-old into custody for a shooting incident that occurred on December 30, 2024. The incident occurred in the Town of Keystone, located near Highway 2 between Iron River and Ashland.
The Sheriff’s Office said that due to the sensitive nature of the situation and the absence of any threat to the public, they will not be releasing any additional information at this time.
The case remains under active investigation.
