With one week down in October plenty of people throughout the Northland are already gearing up for Halloween.
Kimberly Christine, a tour guide with Duluth Ghost Tours, wanted to kick off the spooky season with a first ever Pagan Paddle.
“I was amazed that here we have the land of 10,000 lakes and nobody is doing a witch paddle,” Christine said. “We have a really unique indigenous population, a lot of Scandinavia in the north, So on top of the witches and the Warlocks was a really great opportunity to to do it. And I just gave it a twist and called it a pagan paddle.”
The Pagan Paddle took place at Chub Lake park near Carlton, which included a food truck, tarot card readings, and of course costumes.
Christine said her ghost tours around Canal Park will end on Friday October 13th.
In the meantime she’ll be planning for the 2nd annual Pagan Paddle.
She plans on having it on the Autumnal Equinox next year, and it may happen in Moose Lake.
