$20 fill-the-gear-bag sale ahead of Grandma’s Marathon
Anything that fits in the clear gear bag is just $20 at the Grandma's Marathon warehouse sale.
There are just over 40 days until the 2024 running of Grandma’s Marathon. To get ready for this year’s gear, the Marathon is cleaning house.
“We’ve got a lot of extra apparel from the last three or four years and various events,” shared Zach Schneider with Grandma’s Marathon. “And we’d rather see it out in the community, people wearing it, getting us out of it rather than sitting in our warehouse.”
From noon to 7:00pm Friday, Grandma’s opened the doors of their newer warehouse space that’s connected to Wild State Cider in Lincoln Park. And with a special sale comes special deals!
“It is the first year that we’re doing the “fill-the-gear” bag promotion,” Schneider explains. “Whatever fits in a gear bag is $20.”
With Grandma’s Marathon-related events and smaller races throughout the year, a lot of work goes into it all. And much of that work is done by volunteers. Schneider and the Grandma’s Marathon team have always touted the generous work of those helping out, and they see this sale as a way to say ‘thank you’.
“This is a great way to repay a community who gives us so much throughout the year. Whether they participated in these events, they volunteered, they were just out there watching, supporting in other ways. The community gives us in so many ways. It’s fun to see some of the people that give us so much at other events come here and be rewarded.”
Grandma’s Marathon is Saturday, June 22. WDIO will be broadcasting full race coverage from start to finish.
