420 Organics in Hibbing is helping people understand how to grow marijuana

Marijuana has now been legal in Minnesota since August 1st. And that’s the same day that 420 Organics opened in Hibbing.

The store sells seeds, soil, and other products to help people who want to grow their own plants.

Two childhood friends from Hibbing opened the venture together, and formed a business called Kronic Brothers.

Chris Skalsky, one of the owners, explained, “We start all the way from the seeds. A lot of people come in and don’t know a lot about it. From germination, to what soil you need, to how to use the lights, we can help with it all.”

He and co-owner Allen Scott have spent a lot of time in other states where it’s been legal, to learn the trade.

Scott added, “That’s how you get the knowledge, and how you have a 420 community. That’s how we came up with the name of the store.”

They are not interested in becoming a dispensary. But are hopeful to build a community of growers.
