Hibbing seeking input on proposed Highland Hills Housing Project
Hibbing is working on a new housing project called Highland Hills.
The city of Hibbing is working on ways to develop more housing. A housing study showed that there is demand for more than 1200 new units through 2035.
City councilors have prioritized sites that are closer to being shovel-ready.
One of them is city-owned land behind the Highland Park neighborhood. “There is space for 150 lots,” explained Betsy Olivanti, Community Development Director for Hibbing. “And the neighborhood would have the same look and feel as Highland Park.”
There are two meetings set for the Highland Hills Housing Project. They are coming up on Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th at 6pm, at the Memorial Building.
Information from the meeting will go to the city council for review and consideration on October 16th.
