A Duluth Police annual event – Shop with a cop

It’s hard to tell who has more fun, the kids or the cops.

The Duluth Police Department’s annual Blue Santa Shop with a Cop event took place on Tuesday at Target on Miller Trunk Highway. Every year, the Duluth Police Department partners with multiple community outreach groups to help those in our community to buy holiday gifts.

This year, 28 children in our community shopped for gifts along side members of the Duluth Police Department. The event was made possible thanks to the generous donations made by the Irving Community Club. The club graciously donated $10,000, and Target donated $2,500 to the Blue Santa Shop with a Cop event.

A portion of the Irving Community Club’s donation will go towards 20 families to receive a $200 gift card to Super One to help purchase food over the holiday.

Members of the Duluth Police Department will also be delivering toys and supplies to Bethany Crisis Center in Morgan Park and two Northwood Children’s Services locations where kids will be spending the holiday.
