Bong Bridge reopens after accident closed Duluth bound lanes

An accident at around 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Duluth-bound lane of the Bong Bridge caused a temporary closure of the Duulth-bound lane. Crews were able to clear the scene and the bridge was open to traffic just before 1:30 p.m.

According to a post on the Superior Police Department’s Facebook page, Duluth bound lanes on the Bong Bridge were closed temporarily due to an accident. They ask drivers to use the Blatnik Bridge if they are headed to Duluth from Superior.

MnDOT’s cameras captured a large truck had slid on the road blocking traffic.
