Adam Johnson night to be held at UMD men’s hockey game November 23rd

The Adam Johnson Memorial Fund is set to host a special memorial night to honor Johnson’s life and legacy at the UMD men’s hockey game against Western Michigan University on November 23rd.

Johnson passed away on October 28th, 2023, following an incident on ice during a Nottingham Panthers game in England.

The November 23rd event will honor Johnson’s life and raise funds for the Adam Johnson Memorial Fund. The memorial fund helps support hockey camp scholarships and academic scholarship awarded to a Hibbing High School senior with plans to attend UMD.

The game will feature special activities and opportunities for fans to donate to the cause including: the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Adam Johnson Memorial t-shirt; UMD players will be wearing special warmup jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game; pro jerseys of players who played at UMD with Johnson will be up for auction online; Hibbing Youth Hockey’s Little Chippers will be part of the night’s events.
