One dog died in Lake Leander area house fire
A house fire was reported around 1:15 pm in the Lake Leander area north of Virginia Saturday.
It happened on the 9700 block of Dickinson Lane, and no one was at the home at the time of the fire. Firefighters rescued three dogs from the burning house. A St. Louis County Deputy Sheriff and a citizen performed CPR on the dogs. Two revived and were able to recover, but the third dog died. No human injuries were reported.
Those on the scene say the house appeared to have severe smoke damage.
The Cook, Pike-Sandy-Britt, Embarrass, and Kinney-Great Scott fire departments battled the blaze.
