Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal car vs motorcycle crash

On Sunday at 2:48 pm, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Hudson Police Department responded to a car vs motorcycle crash with injuries. The crash occurred at I-94 westbound at mile marker 1 in St. Croix County near Hudson.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the preliminary investigation indicates the car was in the right lane and attempted to overtake traffic by using the right shoulder. The car struck a guardrail, causing it to veer back to the right land where it collided with a motorcycle.
Both the car and motorcycle traveled across the roadway and hit the median concrete barrier. The car and the motorcycle both had no passengers, and both drivers were transported to Regions Hospital.
The motorcycle driver, a man from Minnetonka, later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car had non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a man from Brooklyn Park, was not wearing a seatbelt and was under the use of alcohol. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
